Comparison of Offshore and Onshore Employee's Job Stress of Oil and Gas Company in Western Part of Iran

Abstract:
Introduction
Job stress has negative effects on mental health and occupational performance of employees. The present study aimed to compare job stress and its components among offshore and onshore Oil and Gs company employees in western part of Iran.
Methods
The method of the study was comparative causal-descriptive. The statistical population of the study was 800 people which included all offshore and onshore employees of Oil and Gas Company in western part of Iran in 2015, out of which 260 people were chosen as the sample by stratified random sampling. To collect the data the job stress questionnaire of CarenBell Cake (1995) was used. The descriptive statistics included the indexes of minimum, maximum, mean and variation range and the analytical statistics included U Mann Whitney’s test.
Results
The results of the study showed that there is a meaningful difference between offshore and onshore employee's job stress (P
Conclusion
There is a significant difference between the job stress off shore and onshore employees.
