Abstract:

One of the methods in studying the biography of the prophet and infallible Imams is the analytical method in which scientific principles and historical criticism are applied. The important question in evaluation and recognition of the valid narratives from invalid ones is that whether the theological beliefs would credit the historical data. The significance of this subject is that it clarifies the criteria which must be used in historical criticism so that no mistake would be made in this regard. To answer this question the book " Al- sahīh min sīra al-Nabīy al-A’zam” by Sayyed Jafar Mortaza Ameli is being studied in this research. This work analytically studies the biography of the holy prophet and establishes a great relation between dialectical theology and history. In this article, Ameli’s analytical method on the prophet’s biography has been studied by applying content analysis. The findings show that Ameli when applying some theological beliefs had rather been influenced by his attitudes.
