Abstract:
In order to analyze the changes of dust occurrence process, monthly and annual data for the frequency of dusty days at synoptic stations of Sistan and Baluchestan Province during the statistical period of 1956-2010 was received from the state meteorological organization was used. Considering the discrete nature of data and abnormal distribution of time series for analyzing data process, it is more suitable to use non-parametric tests. In this research, Laili Force test was used to study the normality of time series data, Mann Kendall and Sen’s Estimator tests were used for process analysis, and GIS software was used for geographical distribution of process type of dusty days. The results obtained from the aforesaid tests showed that all the studied stations had a significant incremental process except for Khash and Saravan stations which lacked any process. Moreover, frequency of dust storms is higher in the warm period of the year and in north and south parts of the province. In seasonal scale, frequency of storms during spring is higher than other seasons and it is also higher in the east of the province as compared to the west.
