Precise calculation of 1-butanol+cyclohexane biological fuel's density at very high pressures

Abstract:
The increase in producing greenhouse gases has become a serious phenomenon for industry as well as the environment. Thus, using alternative fuels such as biological fuels has been highly regarded in recent years for the purpose of reduction of greenhouse gases. In this paper different thermo dynamical equations have been evaluated in order to calculate the density of 1-butanol+cyclohexane hybrid fuel in the pressure condition of the injector of the diesel engine. The pressure ranges between 30 to 70 MPa in the mentioned condition. To the point that there is not enough appropriate experimental data at pressures higher than 30 MPa, it is essential to choose the most accurate equation for calculating the density of the hybrid fuel and numerical simulation. (There are a few experimental data in the range of 30-100 MPa). Comparing the results with experimental data at pressures up to 70 MPa, BWR-LS Virial EOS (Equation of State) has the error of less than 1% for this hybrid fuel. PRWS cubic EOS has more accurate results at 0.8 concentration of 1-butanol (error=0.32%) than BWR-LS (error=0.76%) in calculation of density of the hybrid fuel. As a conclusion, we suggest using BWR-LS Virial EOS for precise calculation of the density of 1-butanol+cyclohexane hybrid fuel in AVL FIRE simulation software.
