The Strategies for vulnerability mitigation of Residential Context Against the Earthquake (A case study for Region 6 of Tehran City)

The Hazards management in urban planning is important to reduce human death and damages results from natural and human hazards. Urban vulnerability evaluation on different dimensions of the factors which determine hazard degree can reduce physical frame and socio-economic damages. Recent study goal is to introduce comments to reduce vulnerability of residential texture in region 6 of Tehran against the earthquake, accordingly. In first stage, the vulnerability of residential texture was investigated in different dimentions. Statistical community was family heads of region 6 which were 331 families out of 29142 residential buildings and proportional to population of the region. The measurement was done by questionnaire and the validity was approved by professors and experts. The validity of awareness, preparedness and reaction against the earthquake were 0.682 and 0.792 using Cronbach’s Alpha, respectively. In addition, Fuzzy AHP was used for determining the degree of importance of factors employed and the vulnerability of residential physical frame of region 6 of Tehran against to the earthquake was accomplished using analytical- demonstrative approach in GIS software. Finally, the magnitude of vulnerability of the region in five dimensions and total vulnerability (residential texture against to the earthquake) was distinguished. In the second phase, for recognition of vulnerability mitigation strategies, in addition to use the results from 1st stage and maps of vulnerability in the region, the strength, weakness, opportunity and threat themes were recognized and eventually the strategies of vulnerability mitigation were recommended by SWOT model for the region
