The comparison of effectivness Ellis’s rational emotive behavior theory with Tiedeman’s decision making theory on vocational performance of teachers

This study set out to compare the effectives of Ellis’s theory with Tiedeman’s theory on teachers vocational performance .This was an experimental study with pre- and post -test design and a control group. The statistical population included all teachers of middle schools in Region 4 of Shiraz during the school year 2015-2016. Data collection was done using Multistage cluster sampling . Groups 1 and 2 received seven 1.5-hour-long REBT and DMT sessions, respectively. The control group did not receive any intervention. The post-test and 1-month post-intervention follow up were implemented and the obtained data was analyzed using appropriate statistical methods. Analytical results showed that Ellis’s Theory had a significant effect on teacher vocational performance and its dimensions, and produced stable results in the long term. Tiedeman’s Theory also showed a significant effect on teacher vocational performance and its dimensions, and produced stable results in the long term. There was no significant difference was observed between the effectiveness and sustainability of Ellis’s rational emotive behavior theory with Tiedeman’s decision making theory on teachers vocational performance and its dimensions.
