Practices of Disgraceful Makr in The Holy Qur’an

The word makr, often connected to Persian negative concepts such as deception, plot, betrayal, trick, hat, and deceit, in the Qur’an and Arabic literature has numerous meanings and more extensive functions, i.e. “any kind of thinking, caring and solution”, whether it be in good or evil deeds. In the Holy Qur’an, both applications have their own evidences; makr in good deeds is regarded as “praised makr” and in evil deeds is regarded as “disgraceful makr”, which the latter is said to be “makr l-sayyi'” in Qur’anic terms. The present research aims to survey some of the disgraceful practices of makr in the Qur’an, based on the descriptive-analytical method.
