The Impressionability of Literal and Sentence-by-sentence Translations of the Holy Qur’an from the Preposition bā’ Denoting Causation

In order to present a good translation, the translator should abide by the grammatical rules of the source language and create the best equivalents for them in the target language. One of these rules is paying attention to the meaning of the preposition bā’ (= with). This research is intended to familiarize with the function of the translators of the Qur’an, Āyatī (sentence-by-sentence), Mu’izzī (literal) in building equivalent for the preposition bā’ denoting causation. Therefore, using the interpretations and grammatical sources of the source and target language and a deductive descriptive-analytical method, this research has critically reviewed two translations of Āyatī and Mu’izzī of the preposition bā’. The research findings show that Mu’izzī’s translation is eminent due to its abiding by the grammatical rules of the source language and the principle of faithfulness in the best equivalent-building; but since in the present translations, the criteria is the modern standard language, Āyatī’s translation is more intimate because in addition to observing the grammatical rules of the source language, it has been more abiding by the modern grammatical rules, as well.
