Sociological Models of Identity Construction in Contemporary Iran

On the one hand, Iranian identity structures characterize the specific historical and cultural features of Iranian nationality at this particular geographical point. And on the other hand, it shows the conscious choice or passive influence of other cultures. In fact, in the long history of Iran, what is the secret of the difference between two different moves of cultural upheaval and the loss of historical reserves? Why, at one time, We are witnessing the fertility and prosperity of Iranian identity, and at another time, We are watching its subordinate position? Is it possible to imagine a mechanism for attracting and eliminating alien cultural elements, that Simultaneously, It announces Iranian cultural independence? Various historical periods have revealed fundamental cultural and identity developments that portray two separate paths: self- cultural immolation and passivity, and intellectual growth and excellence. It is clear that the alien culture asks for full-fledged submission, but which exclusive features of Iranian identity facilitate this ominous goal, and which features are proudly proud of? In this paper, we seek to show that Iranian identity structures in the post-Islamic period have been influenced by two different policies for preservation, survival and continuity. But have both these policies achieved this goal? Providing a detailed picture of the characteristics of Iranian identity and explaining the role of structures in the free choice of individuals and groups can be a valuable contribution to reducing current confrontation in Iran and to determine the implicit principles of behavior that are conceived.
