Family and methods of sexual education for children, based on Islamic teachings

According to the Islamic teachings of the family, it is important to play a significant role in the education of children, and, to this end, it is required to apply educational methods that will lead to the sexual health of the child and the prevention of sexual deviance. This paper aims to explain the proper methods of sexual education in childhood, which, according to Islamic teachings, the family, is obliged to implement it. The method of research is descriptive-analytic that by collecting and studying the verses and traditions of the innocents (AS) about the subject, the content was discussed. The result of this study is that it is a need for families to care for their children's sexual education, along with the development of other aspects of the child's development. According to this paper, sexual education is very effective in fostering the ideal of a child's entire personality and there are common sexual and gender-specific approaches to the girl and the boy, and their direct and indirect ways in which the child should pay attention to the childhood. The other results of this research are that in the Islamic perspective, there are four ways in which families need to apply to their children's sexual education: providing psychological and emotional demands such as: affection, dignity and worthiness, security, the perfection of nature, the foundation of good literature, the development of the spirit, as an indirectly affecting children's sexual health. Also the education on gender, sexuality development and prevention of sexual stimulation, were described as two categories of direct methods of children's health.
