Obstacles and Dilemmas of the Application of Strong Monarchy Theory in the Qajar Dynasty Age

The establishment of Qajar dynasty after about one century of war, bloodshed and demolition resulting from the decade of Safavid dynasty and emergence and degrade of Afsharid and Zandiyeh dynasties, made Iranian elites hopeful for the emergence of a strong and stable monarchy. So, by rewriting and reinterpreting the political idea prevailing in Iran, aiming at a strong monarchy and its components, i.e. security and justice and freeing the society from disorder, plot and align of absurd and impassible issues, they began to educate and admonish the Qajar kings. However, in practice, Qajar rulers neither get any lesson from the previous dynasties and nor listened to the words of elites on the application of the theory of strong monarchy. Consequently, in addition to immersing in old issues, they were unable in confronting with the military-political faces of new civilization too and thus force to leave the scene of politics of Iran. The findings of this research based on the method of discourse analysis show that the lack of application of the theory and idea of strong monarchy, thought was being occurring in practice but the root of the issue was not in practice but hidden in theory. Because the lack of textual integration and internal disagreement of the mentioned view in theory and practice was unable to control the absolute power of king and rulers from converting of government to its counter government. For this reason, having a personal interpretation of the absolute power, and conversion from a government to a counter-government, the Qajar kings took the route of their own degradation.
