Hazrat Zaynab in the Mirror of Contemporary Arab Christians

Ashura poetry enjoys a history as long as the event of Ashura itself in Arabic. Needless to say, Hazrat Zaynab has got a high place in Ashura literature. In addition to Shiites, Sunni Muslims and Christians have composed poems in respect of Hazrat Zaynab, hence showed their deep respect to her. The present paper, provides an analysis of certain Arabic poems of a number of Arab Christians. In them, such notions as her chastity, perseverance, safeguarding the Islamic religion, escorting the Ashura survivors, and conveying the messages of Ashura are highlighted and praised.
