Formulation of training protocol for treating with children of divorce for mothers and its effect on the mothers’ behavior
The aim of this study was formulating a training protocol for treating with children of divorce for the mothers and examining its effect on the mothers’ behavior. In this experimental pre-test and post-test with control group research design, by use of purposive sampling method, 40 divorced women with 6-12 years old children were chosen and randomly were assigned to experimental and control groups (20 of each). After answering the questionnaires as pre-test, 12 training sessions was held for the experimental group during four continuous weeks, three days a week, while the control group received no intervention. The instruments consisted of five questionnaires: State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory (STAXI), Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, Kogler & Jones Guilt Inventory, Bell adjustment Questionnaire, and Burn Family Emotional Condition Questionnaire. For analyzing the data, descriptive statistics such as frequency, mean, and standard deviation were used, and for testing research hypothesis covariance analysis was used. The results showed that the difference between the experimental and control group’s mean were meaningful (P<001/0). According to findings it could be concluded that the designed protocol can improve the psychological state of the children of divorce by establishing a positive change in their mother’s behavior.
