The Intellectual Foundation of Ayatollah Khamenei in International Relations: Emphasizing National Interest

The most important part of the study of international relations, is the recognition of the actors and how they think, which form the basis of the performance of the state. In order to better understand the policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the international arena, one should consider the ideas of the Supreme leader because he has the highest importance in the political structure of this system. The authors have emphasized the understanding the approach of the Islamic Republic based on the opinion of Ayatollah Khamenei. In other words, this article seeks to explain the attitudes of Iran's Supreme leader to show how the system's authority, based on this type of thinking, can influence the achievement of the key goals of the Islamic Revolution. The Basics of the Supreme Leader's approach to foreign policy can be considered in the dignity, wisdom and expediency of leadership in foreign policy, the negation of the dominant and domineering relationship, the principle of maintaining and protecting the identity of the Islamic system and maintaining a revolutionary Islamic orientation.
