The Nursing Staff Perspectives about the Importance of Teaching to a Clinician in the Psychiatric Ward in the Iranian Psychiatric Center in 2017

humans are in a situation where they need to acquire specific knowledge and skills in order to meet their basic needs and preserve their lives .One of these situations when you lose your health And maybe hospitalization .Therefore, the importance of teaching to the patient -as one of the important dimensions of nursing science- Which should not be considered in practice. Accordingly, the present study aims at the importance of education the patient was referred to the nursing staff working in the Iranian Psychiatric Center
This cross-sectional study was perfumed on 118 nurses working in the hospitals of Tehran who selected by convenience sampling. Data were collected through a questionnaire that included demographic characteristics and 22 questions for assessment their attitude in a five point point Likert scale. Data were finally analyzed by using the software SPSS V18. ANOVA and T-test were used for data analysis.
Out of 118 nursing staff, 75 (63.6%) women were female the average age of nursing staff was 36.8 + -7.48 and they had a positive attitude toward patient education. All of the staff (100%) considered it necessary to teach a patient. The main variable under study is the importance of teaching to the patient. The first option of the questionnaire has been found to be meaningful.
evidence showed that the importance of patient education had a good effect in the attitude of nurses. However, to provide a better situation, inhibiting and facilitating factors be identified to improve patient education the hospitals.
