Determining the Predominant Traveling Mode based on Sustainable Development Approach using Game Theory Method, (Case study Tehran)

Today, by increasing in use of private vehicles and the limitation of our supply, Decision makers tend to persuade people to use public transport systems. In this paper, we consider different transportation modes commonly used by people in Tehran. We focus on the main factors which are important in selecting a travel mode such as operational cost (fuel price, maintenance cost), value of time, Air and voice Pollution. To compare between these factors, the costs of each factors are calculated. The Game Theory is applied to determine the best mode. Two players in the Game Theory are public and private transportation sectors. Finally, it is concluded that subway and cycling are the best choices for public and private transportation sectors, respectively.
