Investigating the Relationship between Demographic Characteristics and Life Style of Medical University Students in a Military Medical University
Medical students face many stressors. A healthy lifestyle promotes health, adapts to stressors, improves the quality of life, and is a valuable resource for reducing the prevalence of high-risk health problems.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between demographic characteristics and lifestyle of medical students in 2020.
This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted between April and September, 2020. The statistical population of the present study consists of senior nursing and paramedical students studying at AJA University of Medical Sciences in 2020. A total of 110 students were selected through a simple random sampling method, demographic and health-promoting lifestyle questionnaires.
The results showed that there was a significant and positive relationship between the grade average, housing and the living conditions of the students. Further, the age of the students had a negative and significant relationship with students’ lifestyles (P<0.05).
Considering the effectiveness of education on changing the way of life in this study and the gap in the educational system of the country, university authorities should adopt appropriate changes in the educational program to take useful steps for the health of students.
