Designing the Decision making Model of the Commanders of Sarallah 41st Division in Valfajr8 Operation and Comparing it with the Concepts of Activity Theory
This qualitative and strategic historical-descriptive research, is intended to design the decision making model of the commanders of the Sarallah 41st Division as a line breaker division. Hence, ten commanders of this division were interviewed. The results were analyzed through grounded theory, which ended in concepts and categories. The decision making model of the commanders of this division was designed by identifying the relations between concepts and central categories by following the standardized model of Strauss. It was compared with theory of activity, which is an analytical and efficient tool, for having a deeper study of the issue and expressing its innovation position and providing a better description. As a result, six main categories and a single core category were identified through data analysis. They included military and strategic thinking of commanders, planning maneuvers and operations, reconnaissance operations, combat intelligence network, consultation, decision-making outcome, commanders' indigenous decision-making. A general consideration of the research results indicate that the decision-making model of commanders has been influenced by the experience of Khyber and Badr operations, commanders’ intellect, accurate information, thought analysis, and the use of commanders' military experience for achieving decisive victory.
