Women's employment and decision-making power in the family: A comparative study of employed and non-employed women in Yazd
One of the most important factors for measuring the degree of development of a country is the level of participation women in decision making. Paying attention to women as active forces will have significant impacts on the growth and development of society. Today, women's employment is one of the topics that women have widespread. Family structures have also changed due to women's access to employment outside the home and economic resources and social participation. The present study examines the role of women's employment in decision making power of women in the family. The data of research were collected using a questionnaire survey method and a sample of over 350 employed and unemployed married women in Yazd. To test the hypotheses, according to the level of measurement of variables, statistical tests such as analysis of variance, independent t-test and Pearson correlation coefficient have been used. The results of the research show that women's employment does not effect on decision-making power in social affairs and affairs of children, but it effects on decision-making power in economic affairs.
