Imam al-Sajjad's Strategies for safeguarding the Ashura Epic and its Results

Following the martyrdom of Imam al-Husayn on Ashura, Imam al-Sajjad was faced with the most critical moment and period in leading the Shiite community, hence his efforts for safeguarding its achievements and results. Adopting the wisdom approach, he conveyed the news of the Ashura massacre and various aspects of that horrible experience according to what deemed to be most appropriate due to the actual and real-life contexts. As such, he informed the inhabitats of Damascus of the actual and real threat of the Umayyads through giving advice and delivering talks. He adopted the strategy of questions and answers in the case of the revolts of al-Mukhtar and the Penitents.
