Studying the perception of children aged 7 to 11 about the third dimension and its training
Understanding the third dimension is a skill required by many professions. Space intelligence, which illustrates the three-dimensional visualization of objects, can be enhanced in childhood. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of understanding of children aged 7 to 11 years about the third dimension and how to inform them about the features of a volume. The present study is an applied research, and in terms of collecting information in the category of qualitative research. A sample of 600 children was selected using a combination sampling method and a survey tool was used to collect the children's perception questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS version 22. The reliability of the questionnaire was equal to 0.872 in the two-half-way method, which showed high validity. Based on the results (P <0.05), children responded poorly in answering questions based on perception of the third dimension, while responding to the questions that were previously encountered in the gadgets and toys. Also, the results showed that understanding the characterization of the product is easier than understanding the volume of the product and how it is formed, and describing it in two-dimensional forms when facing a volume.
