Thinking about the spatial structure and typology houses of Tabas’s Dastgardan’s houses
Islamic period shows historical context, have been effective various factors such as climate and culture on the structure and formation houses. There are several traditional houses in the Dastgardan Tabas, which go back to the Safavid period to the Qajar period. These houses, with their complex and different structure, have created a metaphorical look in the traditional context of the region. Due to the location of the Dastgardan area in a warm and dry climate, the buildings of this area are adapted to the desert climate conditions. Traditional houses studied have distinct functional elements than other residential buildings, and their unique features and characteristics have made it necessary to conduct research.This paper intends to introduce the historical buildings of Tabas’s Dastgardan, to recognize the constructive elements and spatial characteristics of the houses, by understanding the principles and cultural values governing residential architecture to determine their identities. On the one hand, by studying the nature of the architecture and the architectural structure of these buildings, it is possible to design a suitable and sustainable model for the architecture of today’s houses in the area. The present study was conducted with a historical approach and descriptive-analytical method. Documentation of architectural features has been done by collecting library resources and field surveys. To achieve this goal, a number of traditional palaces of the Dastgardan, from the Safavid period to Pahlavi, were studied in terms of physical elements. The results of the research indicate the logical coordination of the spatial composition of the historical houses of the Dastgardan with the climatic type of the region, and the change in the face of some houses is rooted in the social structure of this community. In general, the similarity of the architecture of the houses in the central courtyard, as the role of coordinating and communicating with other elements of the building, the use of the house dock and the creation of a garden in connection with the home space as a model to be considered in Tabas’s Dastgardan.
