The effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy on flexibility, self-management skills and interactive skills of women damaged by marital infidelity in Esfahan city
The purpose of the present research was to study the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy on flexibility, self-management skills and interactive skills of women damaged by marital infidelity in Esfahan city. The research method was semi-experimental while using pre-test and post-test design with control group. Statistical population consisted of all the betrayed women in Esfahan 1398 which 30 individuals were selected by available sampling and they were assigned randomly in 2 groups, 15 individuals in the experimental group and 15 individuals in the control group. The experimental group under treatment based on the obligation and acceptance had 8 sessions each 90 minutes. Measuring tools included Denis and Vanderwall Cognitive Flexibility 20-question questionnaire (2010), Howton and Tak Self-management Skills 12-question questionnaire (2008), and Halk Interactional Skills 15-question questionnaire (2010). For analyzing data mono and poly-variable covariance analysis test were used. The results indicated that significant difference existed between mean scores of post-test flexibility, selfmanagement skills as well as interactional skills of betrayed women in experimented and control group. Also significant difference existed between average marks for post- test of effective verbal skill sub-scale, effective verbal responsiveness and effective listener of betrayed women in the 2 groups.
