A study of the concept of Medina, village, Bedouin and Rustaq in verses and hadiths
The city, as the abode of a human successor, is considered a vessel of civilization. The Qur'an mentions three types of human settlements in the form of Medina, village and Bedouin. Meanwhile, the word Medina has a more positive frequency in relation to the village and its derivatives and Bedouin, which was the place of residence. Thus, in the Qur'an, Medina is placed in front of the two settlements of present, Qarawi and primitive. According to the living context of the revelation of the verses, Medina is opposite the village and the Bedouins. Upon further examination of the narrative sources, in some narrations, the word Rustaq is added to the opposites of the city. There was no revelation; Hence, another concept is constructed in the face of narratives that encourage urbanization. This research tries to study the concept of Medina and its contradictions in the Qur'an and hadiths with a descriptive statistical method in order to provide a picture of the good and bad of settlements in Islamic thought in the early centuries.
