Considering the Ibn Taymiyyah view and Shia narrations on Circumambulation around the graves
One of the rituals in visiting the graves of saints is Circumambulation. The question is that weather the Circumambulation around the graves is legal from the Islamic point of view or not? Ibn Taymiyyah is one of those scholars that thinks this act is Haram, but if we have a closer look, we will see that this act is legal. The method in this research is descriptive – analytic and the results are as the following: 1- Circumambulation around the graves is not limited to God's House because Circumambulation around the graves is not worshipping unlike the God's House. Besides, Circumambulation around graves, opposite the God's House needs no special conditions and will not considered worshipping. If there are some narrations, forbidding this act, it refers to the Circumambulation in technical term not the literal meaning. These kinds of banning are not compulsory.
