The effect of motivational interview on self-efficacy and academic achievement of low school male students in Tehran
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of motivational interviewing on selfefficacy and academic achievement of low-achieving students. In this regard, 200 underdeveloped male students in Tehran schools have been selected as a statistical sample. Data collection tools in the present study were standard questionnaires. Data analysis was performed using SPSS software. The results obtained from data analysis showed that motivational interviews have a positive and significant effect on self-efficacy and academic achievement of low school students in Tehran. It was also concluded that self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on students' academic achievement. It was concluded that in the field of working with underdeveloped students, motivational interviewing, due to its nature, seems to be a very effective and promising counseling style that leads to the academic achievement of underdeveloped students.
