The Comparison Effect of Emotion-Oriented Schema Therapy and Solution- Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) on marital intimacy in Women with Marital Conflicts Referring to Psychological Centers
This study aimed to the comparison of the effectiveness of Emotion-Oriented Schema Therapy and Solution- Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) on marital intimacy in women with marital conflicts. The statistical population of this study included all women with marital conflict referring to psychological centers of Ahvaz, using a purposive sampling method, 45 women were selected and randomly assigned to two experimental groups and one control group. To collect data Marital Conflicts of Barati & Sanaei and Marital Intimacy of Waker & Tompson questionnaires were used. This experimental study was conducted with a pretest-posttest design with the control group. The experimental groups underwent individual Emotion-Oriented Schema Therapy (12 sessions 120 minutes) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy training (6 sessions 120 minutes), but the control group received no training. Data were analyzed using covariance analysis. The results showed that both emotion-oriented Schema Therapy and Solution- Focused Brief Therapy was effective to increasing marital intimacy in women with marital conflicts (p < 0/01) and the results showed that there was no significant difference between two on increasing marital intimacy in women with marital conflicts (p>0/05). Therefore, Emotion-Oriented Schema Therapy and Solution- Focused Brief Therapy can used to reduce conflicts and increasing marital intimacy in women.
