participation of civil society in prevention of terrorism (emphasizing on the role of community policing)

Now a day the commitment of some crimes, threaten the security of countries more than ever. The importance of such crimes become more when they involve the most part of the society and cause more insecurity. One of these crimes is terrorism that its commitment in any country influence the other countries such as our country. So consideration of security organs and police is essential. Regards to the roots of terrorism that is based on violence and the origin of violence is in the society and definition of community and participation- based roles for police, that is manifested in community policing model, this is an appropriate way for prevention of terrorism. Also participation of civil society with community policing is a symbol of participative roles of community policing. So the roles that are done by community policing in participation with civil society in order to preventing terrorism, are studied in this article.

Findings of this article show that with regard to the abilities of community policing and contexts of participation of civil society with it, it is possible to define some rolls for them and bilateral interaction in preventing terrorism and elimination of its roots.
