The Study of the Relationship between Social Capital and Social Security Sense in Urban Space (Case Study: Students of Islamic Azad University of Shahr-e-Kord )
Social capital is one of the factors that increases the sense of security in society and expands it. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between social capital of students and their social security feeling in urban spaces of Shahr-e-Kord city. This research has been conducted using quantitative and survey methods. The statistical society of this study consisted of students of Islamic Azad University of Shahr-e-Kord in 1396 and the data were gathered randomly by using sampling method among 300 students. A questionnaire was used to collect field data. Findings of the study showed that all variables of social capital (0.38), social participation (0.23), social trust (0.26) and social cohesion (0.31) are positively correlated with social security feeling in urban environment. In total, the results of the research accepted four hypotheses. Also, the results of regression analysis showed that social capital variables predict a total of 49.5 percent of changes of the sense of security variable in urban space. The results of this study showed that as social capital increases, the level of security in the urban environment increases among students. This result shows that the attention to social capital of social security in the field of social security has a particular importance.
