The Effect of Perfectionism's Dimensions (positive & negative) in Tendency to Divorce
The aim of this study was to determine the relationship of different aspects of Perfectionism between divorce applicant couples and non-divorce applicant couples. The method of research was descriptive and correlative one. According to comparison between perfectionism's dimensions and tendency to divorce in divorce applicant couples and normal couples, the method of research was a survey one and Causal-comparative. The sample size was 300 people whom 150 people of divorce applicants and other 150 people of normal couples were recruited.The questionnaire of research included three questionnaires of perfectionisms dimensions (positive & negative), tendency to divorce and demographic. In order to analyze the data, descriptive statistics (frequency table, the mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (Pearson correlation, regression analysis,T test, one-way Analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey post hoc test) were used. Statistical analyzes have been analyzed using SPSS software. Findings showed that there is a positive and direct relationship between negative perfectionism and high tendency to divorce in divorce applicants and normal couples, and there is a reverse and negative relationship between positive perfectionism and tendency to divorce in normal couples. Also, the negative dimension of perfectionism can predict the tendency to divorce. In general, results showed that perfectionism is one of the Persistent features of personality, which educational methods of parents play a significant role in forming them and in this study was proved its relation with marital discords and tendency to divorce
