A study of family role in prevention of addiction and influential factors on addiction in CharmahalBakhtiari province

Drug addiction in today’s society is increasing and they are priorities in ranking social problem and damages. The present study examines position of family to prevent addiction. First it studies the role and position of this important social organ in society among extensive and comprehensive changes of modern period. Then by introducing the most important social theories and using secondary analysis and studying survey researches in CharmahalBakhtiari examines role of family to prevent addiction. General conclusions of these studies show that family undergoes role, dimension and function variation by social changes and it is the most important institution in prevention of social damages including addiction. Also attitudes and ideas of families towards addiction is changing and this point complicates prevention of addiction. The relationship of independent variables: addicted people in family, disconnection of family, unfriendly relationship of parents, lack of control in family, having relationship with addicts, availability of drugs, children delinquency and addiction are conformed.
