An Islamic Approach to Academic Motivation Patterns (Based on Traditions of the Book of Mizan Al-Hekmah)
Specific environments have different management styles and incentives. The motivation of knowledge workers in educational institution, beyond all general theories of motivation in organizational behavior, can have its own dimensions and components. The description of such motivations in descriptions of knowledge, teaching, scientist and students is abundant in the Islamic traditions. In addition, at Islamic anthropology, human beings are not only material but also spiritual. Paying attention to these components in scientific and educational environments will give rise to Islamic management dialogue on the one hand, and on the other hand have excellent consequences in scientific workplace in Islamic society.
In the present study, relying on qualitative methodology of content analysis with a focus on the source of narratives about knowledge and livelihood, dimensions and motivational fields of knowledge workers and professors are analysed.
The findings show that five patterns can be applied to motivate scientific and research environments.
strategies of celebration, encouragement, God worship, Pleasure-warning and consolidation as effective strategies to motivate three areas: individual, social and stakeholder of the scientific workplace has been discovered and explained.
