Abstract:

Over time, the coin has replaced direct sales of goods in trades. The coin has always been the backbone of the Treasury and a treasure for the study of ancient history. The progress of civilization has led to a variety of apparent elements and the type of metal, weight and size of the coin. The purpose of this study was to investigate the similarities, differences and ways of coinage of the two Sassanid and Safavid kingdoms that are similar in religious terms. Research questions are based on whether coins differ in their metal type. Is the variety of coins in carved designs influenced by elements of religious and writing in the Islamic era, has removed the non-religious elements of the ancient period? The research method is historical-comparative study and the method of collecting library and field information. In this research we find that the valuable industry of minting coins after the time has been used by the old methods with a more recent instrument in the process of coinage. The loss of coin weight makes it easy to transport and reduce the material value of the metal used. The concept of the coin and the main two coins are not the same. In coins, over time, factors such as religion and culture have been influential, and the use of metal and coin designs, with religious and written elements, has led to a lack of coinage and the elimination of non-religious elements.
