Comparative study on the tendency towards general sport in Khalkhal and Hashjin cities with consideration to economic and social variables

Abstract:

This research was conducted with the aim of comparing the tendencytoward public sport in Khalkhal and Hashejin cities in terms of economicand social status in 1395-1399. The research method is a survey and atool for collecting data is a researcher-made questionnaire. The statisticalpopulation of the study included all citizens of Khalkhal and Hashjincities. According to statistics provided by the Khalkhal County CivilRegistry Office, 47,848 people live in 13,156 households in Khalkhal,and 7315 as 1984 households in Hashjin City. The Cochran formula wasused to determine the sample size which was 384. The research findingsindicate that,the level of tendency toward public sport in Khalkhal andHashjin is different in terms of socioeconomic status. And in both cities,the rate of people's tendency to public sports varies according tosocioeconomic status (income, type of occupation, level of education,social participation, and type of consumed food and the use of culturalgoods).
