The study of orientation and news coverage of Daesh in IRNA,Persian BBC and VOA sites
This research studies the structure and news coverage of Daesh comparatively in Iran in IRNA, Persian BBC and VOA websites. This is an analytical–descriptive method and the data were collected by studying the available documents and analyzing the contents of the mentioned news sites and are presented in descriptive tables. The structure and the way of news coverage in these websites are different. These websites highlights the element “that” and the news value of “the fame” and this demonstrate their subject orientation and discourse orientation. Finally it is concluded that most of the news in these websites are non-productive and from this respect IRNA’s contribution is more than the two other websites. From the subjective point of view, the resistance of Daesh, the use of Jihadi groups and trying to present them Islamic and introducing Daesh as Islamic government and not mentioning their terrorist nature, is the focus of these websites. IRNA and VOA emphasizes on hard news and BBC emphasizes on soft news or reflecting an event with its further information.Among interactive features and multimedia used in these websites, image is used mostly. On the contrary to IRNA, BBC and VOA used email and links to related subjects and sites very much.
