Abstract:

Fiber-reinforced polymer matrix composites, due to their excellent mechanical properties, are a good alternative to many traditional materials and have been widely used in various industries in recent years. On the other hand, machining operations are an integral part of manufacturing and production of parts in various industries. Therefore, knowing that the composite layers are damaged during machining operations, especially drilling, it is necessary to pay special attention in this regard, in order to reduce the cost and production time, to ensure the health and safety of the structures. Due to the lack of internal resources that have carefully studied the effects of various variables in the drilling process in order to reduce the delamination phenomenon; In the present paper, we have tried to evaluate the effect of different variables including drill geometry, speed, cutting speed, advancing force, pre-drilling and type of cooling in order to minimize the delamination factor.
