Investigation of Social Factors Related to Addiction in Kashani Families
One of the social harms in different societies is addiction and among them, families are the closest people to the addicted person. The main purpose of this study is to identify social factors related to addiction from the perspective of Kashani families.
The approach of the present study is qualitative and its population is Kashani families in which addicted individuals succeeded in quitting drugs permanently in 1397 and were selected by purposive sampling. The data collection technique was semi-focused interview and was analyzed using Maxqda software version 10, based on open, axial and selective data coding. Goba and Lincoln criteria were used to evaluate scientific accuracy.
The social factors related to addiction according to Kashani families indicate that social factors are effective in sustainable drug withdrawal and social factors are effective in drug addiction. Social factors in sustained drug withdrawal include: emotional and social support factors, difficulty in accessing drugs, group therapy, supportive measures, effective motivations to quit, life skills, family and religious motivation to quit, and social factors in drug addiction. These are: effective factors in frustration, effective factors in drug addiction, not having a job, dropping out of school and inappropriate friends, having addicted friends and ignorance of addiction in society. The most important social factor mentioned in permanent quitting is the addicted person's desire to quit.
