The effectiveness of reality therapy on women's functional flexibility and tolerance
The aim of this study was the effectiveness of couple therapy with a reality therapy approach on action flexibility and tolerance of women. The method of the present study was quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test with control group and quarterly follow-up and the statistical population of women referring to Avae Daroon Counseling Centers, Rahnama and Mehr Shahr Hospital Counseling Center in Tehran from May to June 1397 in which 45 women volunteered to participate. The study responded to Connor and Davidson (2003) Action Flexibility Questionnaire and Simmons and Gaher (2005) Distress Tolerance Questionnaire. After screening, 30 women were selected and randomly replaced in the reality therapy intervention group and the control group (15 women in each group). . The experimental group underwent Glasser reality therapy intervention for 8 sessions of 90 minutes in 2016 and the data were analyzed using repeated measures mixed analysis of variance. The results showed the effect of reality therapy intervention on action flexibility (F = 17.21, P = 0.001) and distress tolerance (F = 26.98, P = 0.001) and the stability of this effect in the follow-up phase. Because reality therapy intervention has allowed women to shift focus from their husbands' behavior to their own; As a result, they stopped using these communication barriers and while increasing their tolerance, by learning the right communication program, they were able to improve their relationships to increase their flexibility; Therefore, they are considered as an effective intervention for the treatment of action flexibility and tolerance of couples' distress.
