The spread of these developments led to the birth and development of new techniques in postmodern fiction. One of these tricks is short circuit. A short circuit is the presence of the author in the body of the story character. The storyteller uses measures to reduce the distance between the reader and the text and to appear in the story. This reduction also covers the distance between the real world and the text. In the novel "Hess", Mohammad Reza Kateb also uses special tricks to talk to the reader and the characters of the story and explains the process of writing the story to them. Thus, it takes the reader out of passivity to participate in the story creation process and get closer to the author and the text. In the present study, an attempt is made to evaluate the short circuit techniques in this novel based on the descriptive-analytical method. The results show that Mohammad Reza Kateb, using tricks such as connecting narratives, emphasizing story writing, artificializing the story world, the presence of the reader and the rebellion of the characters, creates a short connection between his mental world and the reader and enters him to continue and complete the story. It shows the world of his mind and the narrators of the story.
