Provide Dynamic Modeling of Systems to evaluate the Factors Affecting Green Supply Chain Management
In the new century, the main challenge of mankind is to find a sustainable way of producing, consuming and living. The green supply chain has been introduced as a preventive approach and a solution to improve the environmental performance of the processes and products of the organizations, as well as environmental protection, increasing productivity. The purpose of this study is to investigate and improve some of the unfavorable behaviors in the green supply chain using the system dynamics approach. In this research, by reviewing theoretical literature and a survey of experts which consisted of 15 managers and experts of the polymer industry of Fars province, the factors affecting the greening of supply chain management identified, that include: indoor environment management, green purchases, green design, green production, reprocessing, and pollution. Then identified factors were measured. After that simulation started by providing dynamic hypotheses and causal circles, stream diagrams, and mathematical equations were completed. For this purpose, the Vensim software dynamics model provides a way to find out the relationship between factors affecting the greening of supply chain management. Finally, policies have been introduced: reducing lost sales, reducing inventory levels, receiving correct information that their implementation has improved benchmarks.
