Application of Johari Window Theory in the Analysis of Social Relations Based on Jung's Analytical Approach
The present article seeks to analyze the novel "I’m Probably Lost" to explain the relationship between social relations in the Iranian society and Jung's psychological concepts and archetypes, and that how do archetypes affect our relationships with ourselves and others? Accordingly, with a combined application of Joseph Luft and Harrington Ingham's theory of Johari Window and Jung’s archetypes; anima and animus, shadows, numbers and symbols are analyzed concerning the characters of this novel. After reading the novel, looking at the Johari Window and the implications of Jung's theories about archetypes, the author observed that the narrator removes the mask to face her blind and hidden area. And for one day, she suspends his present life, interrogates her past, goes to her subconscious square yard and encounters an unknown area of her character that is hidden and unknown to others and herself. In this narration, which happens to be repeated in one day, the narrator is confronted with her hidden and blind area. It is through the lens of this knowledge that she wants to get rid of being lost in the past and reach balance in the present life. The narrator expands the open area of her character by recognizing her collective subconscious and then by self-disclosure and disclosure. And it strikes a balance in communicating with oneself and others.
