Necessities of holding a female police sports olympiad with a qualitative approach
Considering the importance of women in society and especially in the police force, the purpose of this study is to identify the factors affecting the need to hold a special sports olympiad for police women in the police force.
This is a qualitative research and was conducted using the data theory method and Glaser approach. The nature of exploratory research was conducted with the aim of recognizing the necessities of holding a female police sports olympiad. The statistical population of the study consisted of faculty members of the Department of Psychology, Sports Management and female police officers of the police force, and a sample of 18 of them were purposefully interviewed to achieve theoretical saturation. To determine the validity of the research, acceptability, transferability and verifiability were used and its reliability was determined by agreement between two coders as 0.85.
In this study, 42 initial codes were obtained which were placed in three main categories of value enhancement, health improvement and job development. In the section of strengthening values, two categories of cultural values and social values, in the section of improving health, physical health and mental health, and in the section of job development, individual and organizational factors were identified. Among the necessities of holding the Women's Police Sports Olympiad are strengthening the Islamic identity, increasing the public image of the police, gaining team experience, reducing job stress, increasing self-awareness, improving mental performance and preventing burnout.
