Police media impact on turnout in the city of Orumiyeh
The aim of the present research is to review the effect of televised detective series between the years 1392 through 1394 (2013 through 2016) on the community participation rate in the city of Urmia. The population is 40 people from commanders and police head officers of Urmia and police stations in the capital city of the province, chief officers of specialized police of the province and second-rank security managers of the province, since they could state, without the interference of emotions and false inferences, if any facilitation in the operation of the missions, harshness and crime prevention, and improvement in the process of crime incidence and detection had been observed or not, and if this improvement was a result of community participation or not. The instrument for collecting data was a questionnaire and the method of collecting data was a library study to compile the literature and the theoretical principles and then filling out the questionnaire by the sample subjects. This is a practical surveystudy with a descriptive method. In the questionnaires the data were first encrypted based on Likert scale and then the data obtained from these questionnaires were analyzed using the SPSS software program. Several tests such as Friedman, Wilcoxon, and one-way Chi-square tests have been used to analyze the data. Cronbach’s Alpha Coefficient was used to obtain reliability. The results have shown that detective series affect mentalparticipation, cooperative belief and cooperative behavior, respectively. Yet, cooperative belief and then cooperative behavior and mental participation have the most effect on community participation. Since they have the greatest contribution in realization of community participation, the social assistance members of the security police organization have to make efforts to influence the cooperative belief of the audience in production of the television series as well as teaching the audience through these series how to participate.
