Identification and prioritization of biometric elements in authentication of individuals
Authentication has been an issue of interest for human beings since ancient times. In the present era, activities and interactions of individuals have been developed considerably with technology advancements. Accordingly, the rapid authentication of individuals with complete and accurate reliably, is a critical need. To determine which biometric characteristic is the best feature for the all nations, technologies and administrative policies, which biometric component, the rapid authentication of an individual is based on and also which component is cost efficient, studying the biometric characteristic through expert opinions and their prioritization is necessary. The purpose of this research is to identify and prioritize different biometric methods in authenticating the individuals. To achieve this goal, 10 experts of this field were selected as population and the whole statistical population was selected as examples. Pair comparison questionnaire associated with AHP model was used to collect data this study. Various biometric methods through identified library studies and collected data were analyzed, by softwares based on decision-making multi-criteria systems. The type of current research is applied- developing and the method of study is descriptive – analytical. The results indicated that the methods of fingerprint, iris and signature have the utmost importance and application, and the methods of nails and appearance structure of skin have the least importance and application among various biometric methods.
