This research aimed to assess the effectiveness of acceptance and commitment therapy on quality of life in type II diabetic women.
The present study was conducted by quasi-experimental with pre & post-test, and follow-up with the control group. The statistical population included all diabetic women referred to Imam Khomeini Hospital in Tehran in autumn of 2018. Available sampling (30 diabetic women) and random sampling were performed in two experimental and control groups. The quality of life questionnaire was conducted in the pre-test stage. Then, the experimental group was treated for 8 sessions and the control group did not receive any intervention and finally both groups underwent post-test and follow-up period (3 months). Data analysis was performed using the covariance analysis method.
Results showed that there was a significant difference between two groups after the treatment. So that, the mean score of quality of life was increased in the experimental group compared to the control group.
According to results, acceptance and commitment therapy can be used to improve the quality of life for type 2 diabetic women.
