The Effectiveness of Strengths-Based Career Counseling on Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy and Career-Planning Beliefs and career distress of career Immature students
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Strengths-Based Career Counseling on Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy, Career-Planning Beliefs, and career distress among career immature students. the study was a quasi-experimental research with a Pre-test-post-test and follow-up plan. the population consists all of career immigrant Secondary secondary school Boy students in Rooshtkhar city in 2018. Through the Purposive sampling method and according to the Entrance and existence criteria, 27 career immigrant Secondary secondary school boy students were selected and then randomly assigned into experimental and control groups. The intervention involved 4 sessions once a week of career counseling base strength, which was administered only to the experimental group. self-efficacy decision-making questionnaire and Career Maturity Inventory:form-c (CMI) and Career-Planning Beliefs Scale (CPBM) and Career Distress Scale (CDS) were used to collect data. Data were analyzed by repeated-measures analysis results showed that there is a significant difference at the post-test stages between the experimental and control group in Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy and career distress thoughts (P<0/01). Also, this difference is stable over time (P<0/01). But Strengths-Based Career Counseling has no effect on the Career-Planning Beliefs among career immature students (P>0/05). The finding confirmed that Strengths-Based Career Counseling is an effective method for improving Decision-Making Self-Efficacy and career distress among career immature students.
