Scenario Writing in Medical Tourism of Mashhad Metropolis with Emphasis on Religious Tourism
Tourism is an industry that can lead to economic development and at the same time sustainable development. There are different types of tourism and planners can provide them with material and spiritual infrastructure for different types of tourism by recognizing the interests and tastes. This study tries to formulate scenarios in these two areas of tourism by considering two types of tourism, namely medical tourism and religious tourism. In this regard, the present study was conducted with the aim of future research in medical tourism in Mashhad to achieve a better understanding of the future conditions of medical tourism in Mashhad and using a quantitative method (survey) and Schwartz scenario writing approach. By analyzing the data and based on the critical matrix, the two drivers of "Optimal Medical Tourism Services and Tourist Satisfaction with Medical Services" were selected and four research scenarios - Golden Scenario, Disaster Scenario, middle Scenario 1 (Anxiety), and middle Scenario 2 (Panic) are based on the logic of scenario writing. The favorable scenario in this research is considered the golden scenario (dandelion) in which we encounter two motivations: increasing optimal tourism services and also increasing the satisfaction of medical tourists. Finally, based on the results of this study, it should be said that the optimal scenario is the golden scenario, and the way to achieve it is the intersection of increasing religious medical tourism services with increasing the satisfaction of religious medical tourists.
