The role of urban traffic management and intelligent transportation systems (ITS)

The increase of transportation facilities through traditional methods Due to the need for capital investment and long run time, can not be considered as a fundamental solution. Thus, in recent years, the tendency to use the mechanisms for taking advantage of new technology, optimum use of available resources, initiative and use of urban traffic management techniques in many countries, as the best way to work, according to traffic management big cities are considered. One of the newest and most effective traffic management strategies that can be derived from information technology, is applying the idea of intelligent transportation systems (ITS). In fact, intelligent transportation systems, a new concept in traffic engineering is a very important role in the dynamics of security and is responsible for transportation. These systems has been increased the efficiency of transport and traffic network that with expansion of its in urban management and transport we can solve many problems. Nevertheless, at present paper, the local planning and deployment of ITS and the system will be studied in each region and also will be referred to the necessity of cooperation between organizations.
