Model of Professional Competencies of Project Managers of Research and Technology Organisations (Case: ACECR)
Today, project management is one of the important tasks of research and technology organizations, and the success or failure of each of these projects is directly related to the competencies of its manager. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to provide a Pattern of professional competencies of project managers of research and technology organizations that to achieve this goal, a qualitative approach and phenomenological method has been used. The statistical population of the research is the managers of the acecr project in the country, 30 of whom were selected to participate in the research using purposive sampling method. Also, in order to collect data in the identification stage, semi-structured interviews were used and in order to analyze the data, the seven-step Colaizzi method was used. According to the results of the data analysis, professional competencies of the project managers were identified in 5 domains including 73 primary and 18 secondary areas. The knowledge domain had 5 secondary categories of specialized knowledge, proprietary management knowledge, organizational knowledge, environmental knowledge and basic knowledge. The skill domain had 6 secondary categories, leadership skills, effective communication skills, research skills, technology skills, resource management skills and executive skills. Ability scope had 1 secondary category of intellectual ability and the attitude scope had 4 seconds research-oriented attitude, community-oriented, business-oriented attitude, and self-development. Attribute domain had 2 Secondary Behavioral Attributes and ethical Attributes. RTO should provide the necessary ground for the development of project management in the desired areas and implement and formulate strategies in this regard.
