Fideism and Wittgensteinian Philosophy

This article is review and evaluation of 42-37 and 59-72 of the following Book: Stiver Dan R. The Philosophy of Religious Language, Sign, Symbol, and Story, oxford: Blackwell Publishers 1996. Stiver in these pages expands philosophical views of Ludwig Wittgenstein and its effect on his rreligious position. In this regard, he briefly explain’s Wittgenstein s mer and later philosophy including his idea of "language game" and "form of life" Then the author turns to the relation between Wittgenstein’s later view and his noncognitive understanding of religious language and what is called "Wittgensteinian fideism" Finally the translator evaluates Stiver’s analysis of Wittgenstein and adds some critics to it.
